Father of Algeria suicide protester Mohcen Bouterfif to Echorouk: “Youth should not set fire on themselves. I cannot forgive that mayor”

Immediately after burial of the young Algerian Mohcen Bouterfif, who set himself on fire, in the cemetery of Boukhedra, Tebessa, east of Algeria, at about 10:00 am, Echorouk called his father Mr. Amr, whose answers were mixed with tears.

Mr. Amr said he rushed in the burial of his son to honor the Sunna of our prophet Muhammad in this case.

“The funeral went as quietly wished because he refused to let anyone exploit this incident for self interests, especially those who tried to use it for achieving their political objectives”, he says.

“May Allah guide our youth to avoid such fate. They should remember that they have fathers, mothers, brothers and sons. They have hours and years to realize their dreams”, he added then he began crying, “My son has gone and left two children and a wife who also tried to suicide when she heard the news about Mohcen’s circumstances of suicide, and thanks to Allah she survived after taking her to hospital and also thanks to doctors’ efforts undergoing operation of bowels washing because she took a quantity of drugs”.

“When we heard the news of Mohcen’s death on Sunday her health conditions worsened, especially as she is pregnant. I cannot bear my grandsons’ eyes looking at me, without understanding what is happening around them”.

“May Allah forgive the mayor who incited my son to set himself on fire”?

Echorouk asked him if he will forgive him, he said; “I cannot forgive him, because Mohcen in my son and only Allah can forgive people”. Then he gave us a record, he said he will keep during his entire life, about the mayor while saying to Mohcen; “Set yourself on fire and you cannot do anything”.

Father of Mohcen asserted that his son’s final words before he enters into a coma after setting himself on fire were; “The mayor told me to set myself on fire, I swear to Allah I will do it right now”. Uncle Amr stopped talking before he started crying again and repeating; “May Allah guide us…may Allah guide us”.
